Description

In the RHACS Operator GUI description under the SecuredCluster custom resource installation prerequisites, replace references to the legacy cluster init bundle / init-bundle.yaml notion with the new cluster registration secret (CRS) notion.

User-facing documentation

This change is for the documentation text itself

Testing and quality

  • the change is production ready: the change is GA, or otherwise the functionality is gated by a feature flag
  • CI results are inspected

In the RHACS Operator GUI description under the SecuredCluster custom
resource installation prerequisites, replace references to the legacy
cluster init bundle / init-bundle.yaml notion with the new cluster
registration secret (CRS) notion.

Skipping CI for Draft Pull Request.
If you want CI signal for your change, please convert it to an actual PR.
You can still manually trigger a test run with /test all

📝 Summary

Summary by CodeRabbit

  • Documentation
    • Updated SecuredCluster guidance to direct users to create a cluster registration secret (CRS) instead of a cluster init bundle.
    • Installation instructions now explain how to generate a CRS through the RHACS UI or roxctl central crs generate, then create the Kubernetes secret from the downloaded file.

SecuredCluster descriptions and installation guidance now refer to cluster registration secrets (CRS) instead of cluster init bundles. The instructions cover creating a CRS through the RHACS UI or roxctl, then creating the Kubernetes secret from the resulting file.

The documented CLI route needs endpoint and Admin-token setup to work, though users can create the CRS through the UI instead. Update the instructions before relying on the CLI path.

🎯 Functional Correctness | 🟡 Minor | ⚡ Quick win

Include the roxctl setup prerequisites.

When the CLI environment is not configured, the command targets localhost:8443. CRS generation also requires a Central endpoint and an API token with the Admin role. Document these prerequisites and use -e "$ROX_CENTRAL_ADDRESS" in the example. (docs.redhat.com)

  • operator/config/manifests/bases/rhacs-operator.clusterserviceversion.yaml#L1736-L1736: document the endpoint and token prerequisites, and include the endpoint flag.
  • operator/bundle/manifests/rhacs-operator.clusterserviceversion.yaml#L1732-L1732: apply the same correction to the packaged CSV instructions.
