- Line 93: Update the Exclusion struct’s Deployment field so its zero value is
omitted during serialization, using a supported zero-value omission tag or a
pointer. Verify that an Exclusion with ExcludeByKind set serializes without
deployment, so the AtMostOneOf validation rule accepts kind-only exclusions.

🟠 Major · Remove the unsupported validation marker until crdify supports it. · policy_types.go:94-96
config-controller/api/v1alpha1/policy_types.go:94-96
🎯 Functional Correctness | 🟠 Major | ⚡ Quick winRemove the unsupported validation marker until crdify supports it.
The marker adds
x-kubernetes-validationsto the head CRD. crdify v0.6.0 has no comparator for this field, so its defaultunhandledEnforcement: Errorreports an unhandled schema change. The CLI exits with status 1, and the required workflow step fails underset -e.Suggested fix
-// +kubebuilder:validation:AtMostOneOf=deployment;excludeByKind type Exclusion struct {Regenerate the checked-in SecurityPolicy CRD after removing the marker.

Description
This adds
// +kubebuilder:validation:AtMostOneOf=deployment;excludeByKindonExclusionand the SecurityPolicy CRDs that controller-gen v0.22.0 emits from it. The generated rule isx-kubernetes-validationsCEL: an exclusion may setdeploymentorexcludeByKind, not both.Deploymentkeeps// +optionaland usesjson:"deployment, omitzero", so a zero deployment is omitted andhas(self.deployment)stays false for a kind-only exclusion. Note: This has been verified to be a backward compatible, non breaking change.crdify 0.6.0 has no validator for
x-kubernetes-validations. WithunhandledEnforcementleft at Error, Check CRD Compatibility treats this addition as an unhandled error. After discussion with @porridge, this is the way to get around the crdify issue: scrub that one validation from the copy fed to crdify, and leave the CEL rule in the installed CRD..github/workflows/scripts/crdify.shdoes that forconfig.stackrox.io_securitypolicies.yamlbefore it runs crdify. It drops the entry whose message isat most one of the fields in [deployment excludeByKind] may be setand whose rule is(has(self.deployment)?1:0)+(has(self.excludeByKind)?1:0) <= 1. TheexcludeByKindfield and this rule ship in the same release, so no existing CR can violate it.See also: kubernetes-sigs/crdify#50
