Details for the issue

As a user, I would like the ability to set the font and font size for the Edit Database Cell Window.

Useful extra information

The default font size for the Edit Database Cell Window on macOS Sierra is too small for my eyes.

There are settings in Preferences to set the font and size for both Data Browser and SQL but not for Edit Cell.

I think this is a continuation of the conversation on Issue 818 but I'm adding this issue because I believe that code changes will need to be made to satisfy this issue. Whether or not this is to be considered a bug or a needed feature, I will leave to the development team to decide.

I'm opening this issue because:

  • DB4S is crashing
  • DB4S has a bug
  • DB4S needs a feature
  • DB4S has another problem

I'm using DB4S on:

  • Windows: ( version: ___ )
  • Linux: ( distro: ___ )
  • macOS: ( version: 10.12.1 "Sierra")
  • Other: ___

I'm using DB4S version:

  • 3.9.1
  • 3.9.0
  • Other: ___

I have also:

Oops, yep. We do seem to have missed that one.

Just tested it here, and none of the other font settings affect it either.

So, we'll need to add some way to change that. 😄

In theory the font and the font size in the edit cell window should be the same as in the data browser table view. What irritates me is that it doesn't really look like this is the case in your last screenshot.

One bug I see here is that changing the font or font size (the one in your first screenshot) was not applied automatically to the edit cell window. You'd have to restart the application in order to see the effect. This is changed, however, by the latest commit :) Can you do me favour and grab tomorrow's nightly build (or any later build), increase the font size by one or two using that version and check if it improves your experience in any way? 😃

@ProfessorTom Would you be ok to try out our new version 3.10.0 release?

In theory, this should be fixed in that. But, it would be good to have it verified from your point of view before closing this, just in case. 😄
