Release list
Scriptella 1.6
Scriptella 1.6 adds direct SQL execution, shared environment-variable configuration, and first-class file-backed SQLite support. Java 17 remains the minimum runtime.
Highlights:
- Run a UTF-8 SQL file directly with
EtlExecutor.newSqlFileExecutor(...)or theexecute-sqllauncher command, including optional property substitution and named bindings. - Read credentials and shared configuration from the reserved
${env.*}namespace without exposing missing values in diagnostics. - Use the
sqlitealias or canonicaljdbc:sqlite:URLs for file-backed SQLite ETL workflows.
Upgrade notes:
- Vendor JDBC drivers, including Xerial SQLite JDBC, remain external dependencies.
- SQLite NUMERIC/REAL values can lose precision through SQLite and
Double; arbitrary numeric migrations are not lossless. - Scriptella 1.3 remains the Java 8 compatibility line.
See the full 1.6 changelog for details.
Scriptella 1.5
Scriptella 1.5
Scriptella 1.5 is a focused compatibility and usability release that keeps
the Java 17 baseline while improving current JDBC database support, optional
integration dependencies, and release-time validation.
Highlights
- First-class PostgreSQL and MariaDB adapters with canonical URL autodetection.
- Experimental
--checkcommand for static ETL configuration checks. - Credential-safe diagnostics for missing, broken, or URL-incompatible JDBC
drivers. - Updated MySQL, Velocity, Spring, and optional runtime dependency sets.
- Release validation on JDK 17 and JDK 25 while retaining Java 17 bytecode.
- Public H2 transaction and parameter-binding contract coverage.
Compatibility and upgrade notes
- Java 17 remains the minimum runtime and build JDK. Scriptella 1.3 remains
the Java 8 compatibility line. - PostgreSQL and MariaDB have full recorded validation for the documented
versions. MySQL validation is limited to the targeted 8.4.11 / Connector/J
26.7.0 lane; Oracle and SQL Server remain provisional adapter-level support. - Vendor JDBC drivers must be supplied through the connection
classpathor
the application runtime classpath. - Review the documented dependency changes when upgrading Velocity or Spring
integrations.

for complete details and the Scriptella website for
documentation and downloads.
Scriptella 1.4
Scriptella 1.4 is a maintenance and modernization release that moves the
build and runtime baseline to Java 17 while preserving Scriptella's lightweight
ETL model and existing scripting behavior.
Highlights
- Java 17 is now the minimum supported runtime and build JDK; artifacts use
Java 17 bytecode. - JavaScript uses the Rhino 1.9.1 JSR-223 provider. The binary and examples
distributions include the required Rhino libraries underlib/. - Maven and Ant builds were refreshed for current JDKs and release packaging.
- Janino, JavaMail, Activation, Ant, Commons Logging, Velocity, and H2
dependencies were updated. Commons JEXL remains at 2.0.1 for compatibility.
Removed
- The ODBC / JDBC-ODBC bridge adapter and its sample were removed because the
bridge is not available on the Java 17 baseline. - HSQLDB 1.8 was removed from product code, tests, samples, and distributions;
database-backed tests and examples now use H2 2.4.240.
Upgrade notes
- Scriptella 1.4 requires Java 17. Use Scriptella 1.3 if Java 8 support is
required. - Maven and embedded consumers using JavaScript must add
org.mozilla:rhino-engine:1.9.1to the application classpath. - Keep the binary distribution layout intact when using JavaScript, including
itslib/directory. - Existing HSQLDB database files are not converted automatically to H2.

Scriptella 1.3
Scriptella 1.3
Scriptella 1.3 is a Java 8 maintenance release that preserves the existing Maven modules, Ant-built all-in-one JAR, and distribution archives.
Highlights
- Java 8 remains the supported runtime and bytecode baseline.
- Maven consumers continue to use the
org.scriptellagroup ID and the existing Core, Drivers, and Tools module layout. - The standalone binary distribution includes the all-in-one
scriptella.jar. - JavaScript ETL should explicitly select
language=rhino; Nashorn-specific scripts should be reviewed before upgrading.
JDK 17 compatibility is deferred to Scriptella 1.4.
Each primary asset has a .sha256 checksum sidecar and an ASCII-armored .asc signature sidecar. Verify signatures with the Scriptella signing-key fingerprint 5DA760EAF1B4169E1715DB80322E3E0A55DB94CE.
Scriptella 1.2
- Switched maven groupId to org.scriptella
- Upgraded Janino driver to 3.1.0
- Various bugfixes and performance improvements.
