My question is, can I use this github repo in its place? I tried but I got the following error, instead:
[exec] [ERROR] Failed to execute goal on project gt-ogr-bridj: Could not resolve dependencies for project org.geotools:gt-ogr-bridj:jar:13-SNAPSHOT: Could not find artifact com.nativelibs4java:bridj:jar:c-only:0.6 in nativelibs4java-repo (http://github.com/nativelibs4java/nativelibs4java) -> [Help 1]

You might want to force a dependency to 0.6.1, which can be resolved from Maven Central.
Which build tool are you using?
