fix(library): an Otter export made without the speakers' names or without the times reads into its turns - #553
Otter's text export can leave out the speakers' names, the times or both. Real exports show what each layout writes:
names and times: a header of the name, two spaces, the time and two spaces, Sam 1:04:46 ;
times alone: 0:04 ;
names alone: Sam , the name with the two spaces Otter writes after each part of a header;
neither: the paragraphs and the closing line alone.
Otter's export of a voice note writes each header as the name, one space and the time, with nothing after it: Unknown 0:00.
otterHeader reads only the first layout. An export made without names or without times has no header it knows, so readTranscript(text, 'otter') reads it as plain lines, each header line a turn of its own words (0:04, Sam), with no times and no speakers, and transcriptFormatOf names it lines. A voice note's export reads as plain lines too, each header a turn of its own.
This pull request adds three real exports as vectors, cut from transcripts published under open licences (vectors/SOURCES.md names each source, its licence and the lines kept), and the cases they fail, then the fix:
otter.ts reads a header of each layout: the name, two spaces and the time (Sam 1:04:46 ); the time alone with its two spaces (0:04 ), or without them in a text whose lines lost the spaces at their ends (0:04); the name alone with its two spaces (Sam ); and a voice note's name, one space and time (Unknown 0:00). An export has one layout of header, the one most of its headers are, a tie going to the name and the time, so a paragraph that is a time alone in an export of names is words.
A header other than the name, two spaces and the time heads turns only in an export that opens with one. A voice note's header heads turns only in a text that closes with Transcribed by https://otter.ai, since a line of words can end the same way (We meet at 10:30); without that line a voice note's export reads as plain lines, as before.
Otter ends a paragraph's line with one space at most, so a header with its two spaces heads a turn wherever it stands, straight after a header with no words too.
A line of words can take the form of a time without the spaces (2:30) or of a voice note's header (We meet at 10:30). Otter's text export leaves a blank line after each turn, so in a text laid out in such blocks, a header of that form heads a turn only where a block starts, with its words on the next line, and a later line of a turn that ends in a time stays that turn's words. In a text with no blank lines between turns, such as a Word file without empty paragraphs, the line straight after such a header is that header's words; there a turn's later paragraph that ends in a time, straight before the next header, reads as a header, since nothing in the file tells the two apart. The TSDoc and LIBRARY_INDEX.md give the input.
An export made with neither names nor times whose first paragraph takes the form of such a header (We start at 9:30) is no export of those headers: Otter writes a header's words on the line straight after it, and each paragraph of an export made with neither has a blank line after it.
transcriptFormatOf names a .txt or .md that closes with Otter's line otter, whatever its headers; without that line, two headers of a name and a time with words under them still make it Otter's.
word.ts reads a Word file's text a paragraph a line, so the paragraph after a header stands on the line straight after it, as it does in Otter's text.
dbe820e, the cases of the two findings of a cold review of those commits: a Word file with no empty paragraphs where a header with no words stands straight above the next header, and a voice note's export, with the vector otter-names-times-one-space.txt (vectors/SOURCES.md). It was pushed with 6847e26, their fix. CI passes on 6847e26, and every check passes on af118dd, the 27 cases of transcripts.test.ts among them.
7053d52 writes the byte order mark of the voice note's Windows case as \ufeff. pnpm run lint strips a literal U+FEFF from the files under src/, and CI runs it before the tests. Every check passes on caa2685: Test & Lint passed 13,585 tests and skipped 68, with none failing, the 27 cases of transcripts.test.ts among those passed.
d6be8e2, the case of an export made with neither names nor times whose first paragraph takes the form of a voice note's header, then 13a1ed4, its fix: every check passes on 0204352.
40ccb9a and 523f344, the cases of Qodo's review: a later line of a voice note's turn that ends in a time, in Otter's text and in a Word file, and a Word paragraph's manual line breaks as mammoth's text holds them. 3d40ebd is the fix, 43baf43 its docs and f224ee5 a type annotation. Every check passes on f224ee5 (CI run 40230325736), the 31 cases of transcripts.test.ts among those passed.

Summary by CodeRabbit
Bug Fixes
Improved Otter transcript imports across speaker-and-time, speaker-only, time-only, and voice-note header formats, including exports with incomplete header details.
Improved format detection when identifying details appear later in a file and reduced confusion between headers and transcript text. Plain-line reading is used when headers cannot be identified.
Improved Word transcript parsing to handle paragraphs, blank lines, and manual line breaks consistently.
Documentation
Expanded guidance on transcript formats and added information about example transcripts and their sources.
…es or without the times
Otter's export can leave out the speakers' names, the times or both. Three
real exports, cut from transcripts published under open licences (the
vectors' SOURCES.md), show its layouts: a header of a name and a time, of a
time alone, or of a name alone with two spaces after it. The reader takes
only the first, so an export made without names or without times reads each
header line as a turn of its own words, with no times and no speakers.

Walkthrough
Otter parsing now recognizes additional header layouts, selects a layout based on header patterns, and falls back to plain-line reading when no layout yields turns. The Word transcript reader normalizes extracted paragraphs before detection and parsing. Tests and fixtures cover these behaviors across text and Word inputs.
The reader recognizes name-and-time, voice-note, time-only, and name-only headers, selects an eligible layout, and falls back to plain lines when no layout yields turns. Tests, fixtures, and documentation cover layout recognition and format detection.
Word transcript normalization src/cognition/library/transcripts/word.ts, src/cognition/library/__tests__/transcripts.test.ts, docs/features/LIBRARY_INDEX.md
The Word reader collapses pairs of consecutive newline characters before layout detection and parsing. Tests and documentation cover paragraph boundaries and manual line breaks.
The reported installation-blocking TypeScript error has been corrected. No actionable merge-blocking issue remains after normal checks.

Expand Otter transcript parsing to recognize exports that include only speaker names, only timestamps, or both, while preserving paragraph and mixed-header behavior.
Use trailing double spaces and timestamp patterns as header signals when the standard combined header is absent.
Treat each export's dominant header style as authoritative so isolated time-like or name-like paragraph lines remain turn text.
Support legacy Otter formatting without trailing header spaces or a final newline, and retain existing BOM/CRLF and Word-import behavior.

…, and the line after a header as its words
An export made with neither option is its paragraphs and Otter's closing
line; a paragraph in it that is a time alone must stay a turn, and the
paragraphs before it with it. In an export made without names, Otter
writes each header's words on the line after it, so a paragraph that is
a time alone there is words too. The real-vectors case writes its byte
order mark as an escape: the lint step strips a literal one before the
tests run.
This draft is not complete, so it stays a draft. It holds the test commits 8ce0216 and 90ecb65 (the three Otter exports under src/cognition/library/__tests__/vectors/ with SOURCES.md, and their cases in transcripts.test.ts) and master merges, and not the fix its description says follows: otterHeader still reads only a header with the name and the time, so an export made with the times alone, the names alone or neither still reads as plain lines and transcriptFormatOf names it lines. Its red is those cases alone: Test & Lint run 39495393121 fails the five new readTranscript cases in transcripts.test.ts (13,209 others pass), and every other check passes. The fix belongs to lane 895036a6, which landed the transcript readers in #276. The branch is three commits behind master, all CI and release changes that touch none of its files.
…alone reads by those headers
otterHeader read only a header of a name and a time, so an export made
without the speakers' names (`0:04 `) or without the times (`Sam `)
had no header the reader knew: readTranscript read each header line as
a turn of its own, with no times and no speakers, and the layout check
named such a file plain lines.
The reader now knows three layouts of header: a name and a time, a time
alone, and a name alone with the two spaces Otter writes after it. An
export has one, the layout most of its headers are, a tie going to the
name and the time. A time alone or a name alone is a weaker sign, since
a paragraph can be `2:30`, so it heads a turn only in an export that
opens with one, and never on the line straight after a header, which
holds that header's words. A header of a name and a time reads as
before.
A text that closes with Otter's line is Otter's, so an export made
without the names or the times, or with neither, is named Otter's by
that line. Two headers of a name and a time with words under them
still name a text Otter's without it.
…agraph after an Otter header is its words
mammoth's text follows each paragraph with a blank line, so in a Word
file laid out as an Otter export made without the names, the line
straight after a header was blank, and a paragraph that is a time
alone, `2:30`, headed a turn of its own where the export's text reads
it as the words of the header above it.
readWordTranscript now reads the text with each paragraph a line and an
empty paragraph a blank line, as the export's text holds them. Blank
lines change nothing else the Word reader answers: plain lines and the
headers of a name and a time read the same. The new case reads the
export's text and a Word file of it, with and without the empty
paragraphs, into the same turns.
…infer through its loop
The build stopped on TS7022 in otter.ts: the header's initializer reads
afterHeader, which the loop assigns from the header, so TypeScript could
infer the type of neither. The header is now annotated Header | null.
Fixed forward on this branch. CI is green on b9aa683.
What was red: Test & Lint run 39495393121 failed five readTranscript cases in transcripts.test.ts. otterHeader read only a header of a name and a time, so an export made with the times alone (0:04 ) or the names alone (Sam ) had no header the reader knew. Each time line read as a turn of its own with startMs null, and transcriptFormatOf named such a file lines. The Word case failed for the same reason: the layout check took Otter's closing line only beside a header of a name and a time, so the Word text was read as plain lines and the closing line became turn 11.
159dc30: otter.ts reads three layouts of header: a name and a time, a time alone, and a name alone with the two spaces Otter writes after it. An export has one, the layout most of its headers are, a tie going to the name and the time. A time alone or a name alone heads a turn only in an export that opens with one, and never on the line straight after a header. A text that closes with Transcribed by https://otter.ai is Otter's, and two headers of a name and a time with words under them still make it Otter's without that line. A header of a name and a time reads as before. docs/features/LIBRARY_INDEX.md says the same.
50b88b6: word.ts reads a Word file's text a paragraph a line. mammoth's text follows each paragraph with a blank line, so in a Word file the line straight after a header was blank, and a paragraph that is a time alone headed its own turn where the export's text reads it as words. One new case pins it.
b9aa683: the header in turnsOf is annotated Header | null. TypeScript could not infer its type through the loop, and TS7022 stopped the build on 50b88b6.
CI on b9aa683: every check passes. Test & Lint ran 13,300 tests and none failed, the 25 in transcripts.test.ts among them. Browser tests ran transcripts.browser.test.ts in Chromium and WebKit. Batch-1, Release dry run, links, gate and the title check pass.
No test was changed, skipped or removed. The description above still says the fix follows; it is on the branch now. The pull request stays a draft.
No P0 or P1, so nothing was pushed. Every check passes on 3965242: Test & Lint ran 13,348 tests with none failing, the 25 in transcripts.test.ts among them.
The new rules were also checked on 277 text files from public GitHub repositories that hold Otter's closing line, read by a script that applies them and gives the four expected vector results exactly. 196 read by headers of a name and a time, 7 by times alone and 10 by names alone, and no file of time-alone or name-alone headers opens with anything else. None of the 213 has a header with no words or a time alone under a header, and none of the 196 opens with a time or a name alone, so each of those reads as before.
Two P2 findings, not fixed:
From 50b88b6. In a Word file with no empty paragraphs, a header with no words straight above the next header, in an export made without names, takes that header as its words. readWordTranscript(wordFileOf(['0:04 ', 'Hello.', '0:09 ', '0:12 ', 'Good.', 'Transcribed by https://otter.ai']), { extractRawText }) reads turn 2 as { startMs: 9_000, text: '0:12 Good.' }. The same export as text, '0:04 \nHello.\n\n0:09 \n\n0:12 \nGood.\n\nTranscribed by https://otter.ai\n', reads turn 2 as { startMs: 12_000, text: 'Good.' }, as the Word file did at 159dc30. A line in Otter's header form, the time and its two spaces, could head a turn even straight after a header, since Otter ends a paragraph's line with one space at most; the branch's tests would all still hold.
Not from this branch. Otter's voice note exports write a header as the name, one space and the time, with nothing after it (Unknown 0:00): 7 of the files above, in Freda32/TalkMemo, IceMan56/MET and philsgu/myfoo_python. readTranscript('Unknown 0:00\nGood morning.\n\nUnknown 0:09\nShall we start?\n\nTranscribed by https://otter.ai\n', 'otter') reads four turns, each header one of them, with no times and no labels. The reader did the same before this branch, when transcriptFormatOf named such a file lines; it now names it otter by its closing line. A header with one space needs a rule of its own, since a line of words such as We meet at 10:30 ends the same way, and a vector of its own.
The description still says the fix follows and leaves Docs updated unticked, and no review bot has read the fix yet: CodeRabbit skips a draft.
…r a header, and a voice note's export
In a Word file with no empty paragraphs, a header with no words in an
export made without the names stands straight above the next header, and
the reader takes that header as its words: `0:04 `, `Hello.`, `0:09 `,
`0:12 `, `Good.` reads turn 2 as `0:12 Good.` at 0:09. Otter ends a
paragraph's line with one space at most, so a time or a name with the two
spaces after it is a header wherever it stands. The case reads the Word
file and the export's text, with and without blank lines, into `Hello.` at
0:04 and `Good.` at 0:12, and the same for names alone.
Otter's export of a voice note writes each header as the name, one space
and the time (`Unknown 0:00`), and the reader takes each header as a turn
of its own words. A new vector, written in that layout since no such
export was found under an open licence (SOURCES.md), reads into three
turns by `Unknown`. A line of words can end the same way, so the case also
reads such a note without Otter's closing line as plain lines, and a line
of words that ends in a time as words: straight after a header, in an
export of names and times, and in an export of paragraphs alone.
…er it stands, and a voice note's export reads by its headers
A time alone or a name alone headed no turn on the line straight after a
header, so in a Word file with no empty paragraphs a header with no words
took the next header as its words. Otter ends a paragraph's line with one
space at most, so a time or a name with the two spaces Otter writes after
it is a header wherever it stands, straight after a header too, and a time
without them, `2:30`, is words in an export whose headers have them. A
text whose lines lost those spaces is read by a layout of its own: its
headers and a paragraph `2:30` look alike, so there the line straight
after a header stays that header's words.
Otter's export of a voice note writes each header as the name, one space
and the time (`Unknown 0:00`). The reader now knows that layout too. A line
of words can end the same way, `We meet at 10:30`, so it is a weak layout:
it heads turns only in a text that closes with Otter's line, in an export
that opens with one of its headers and where it is the layout most of the
headers are, and the line straight after such a header is its words.
Without the closing line the note reads as plain lines, as before.
LIBRARY_INDEX.md states both rules.
…se as an escape
The case that reads the voice note's vector saved on Windows held the byte
order mark as a literal U+FEFF inside its template. `pnpm run lint` runs
`scripts/strip-nbsp.mjs` first, which removes every U+FEFF from the `.ts`
files under `src/`, and CI's Test & Lint job runs it before the tests, so
there the case read the vector with CRLF line ends and no byte order mark.
It is written ``, as the case for the three real exports writes it.
… whose first paragraph ends in a time
A voice note's header, the name, one space and the time, has the form of
a line of words that ends in a time, and a time with no spaces after it
the form of a paragraph that is a time alone. An export made with
neither names nor times whose first paragraph takes such a form is read
by those headers: `We start at 9:30`, `Good morning, everyone.` and `The
venue opens at 10:30` with Otter's closing line read as one turn, `Good
morning, everyone.` said by `We start at` at 9:30, and the third
paragraph, taken for a header with no words, is left out. `9:30`, `Good
morning.` and `Shall we start?` read as one turn at 9:30.
Otter writes a header's words on the line straight after it, and a
blank line after each paragraph of an export made with neither. The case
reads both exports, and the first as a Word file of its every line, into
their paragraphs.
…e opens with a header and its words
A voice note's header and a time with no spaces after it take the form
of a line of words, and the reader took a first paragraph of that form
in an export made with neither names nor times for the export's first
header: the paragraph became a speaker and a start, the paragraphs after
it its words, and a later paragraph of the same form a header with no
words, left out.
Otter writes a header's words on the line straight after it, and each
paragraph of an export made with neither with a blank line after it. An
export of such headers now opens with a header whose next line holds its
words, so a first paragraph with a blank line after it opens none, and
the export reads as its paragraphs, as it did before the branch. A Word
file of such an export with no empty paragraphs holds no blank line to
tell them by; LIBRARY_INDEX.md states the rule and that limit.
Both findings of the cold review (comment 6379936278) are fixed, each with its test first, and CI is green on the head 0204352.
In a Word file with no empty paragraphs, a time alone or a name alone with no words, standing straight above the next header, took that header as its words: 0:04 , Hello., 0:09 , 0:12 , Good. read turn 2 as 0:12 Good. at 0:09. Otter ends a paragraph's line with one space at most, so a time or a name with the two spaces Otter writes after it now heads a turn wherever it stands. A text whose lines lost those spaces is read by a layout of its own, where the line straight after a header stays that header's words. Test dbe820e, fix 6847e26.
Otter's voice-note exports write each header as the name, one space and the time (Unknown 0:00), and the reader read those headers as words. Such an export is now read by its headers. The vector otter-names-times-one-space.txt and its expected result came with the test commit, and vectors/SOURCES.md names its source. Test dbe820e, fix 6847e26.
Found while checking those fixes, and fixed the same way:
An export made with neither names nor times whose first paragraph has the form of a voice note's header (We start at 9:30) was read by such headers: that paragraph became a speaker and a start, and a later paragraph of the same form was dropped as a header with no words. Such headers are now taken only when the export opens with one whose words stand on the very next line, as Otter writes them; each paragraph of an export made with neither has a blank line after it. Test d6be8e2, fix 13a1ed4.
The case for the voice note saved on Windows held its byte order mark as a literal character, which scripts/strip-nbsp.mjs removes before CI's Test & Lint job runs the tests. It is written as an escape (7053d52).
docs/features/LIBRARY_INDEX.md describes the reader's layouts and changed with the fixes, and the description above states what the fix does.
CI on 0204352: Test & Lint, Browser tests, Batch-1 gated tests and Release dry run (run 40197845918), links, the title check, the breaking-change gate, the built persona entry, and the installed transcription package and source foundation all passed; Grounded writing semantics was skipped. No review thread is open. The work is complete, so this is marked ready for review.

High-Level Assessment
The following are alternative approaches to this PR:
1. Require callers to specify the Otter header layout
➕ Avoids heuristic choices for ambiguous lines.
➕ Could parse unbranded voice notes when their layout is known.
➖ Requires callers to know export settings they may not have.
➖ Changes the reader API and does not improve automatic imports on its own.
Recommendation: Keep automatic layout selection for imported exports: it addresses the reported failures without requiring new caller metadata. Retain explicit layout selection as a potential future option if ambiguity in unbranded exports becomes a demonstrated need.

1. Voice-note sentences become false turns✓ Resolved
Description
turnsOf protects only the line immediately after a voice-note header from being parsed as another
header. When a turn’s words span multiple lines, a later line such as We meet at 10:30 becomes a
turn attributed to We meet at instead of remaining in the current turn.
voiceNoteHeader accepts a single-space name and time, and isName accepts We meet at as a name.
After the first words line, afterHeader becomes false, so the next header-shaped words line is
parsed as a new turn; voice-note parsing is enabled for a closed export.
The issue below was found during a code review. Follow the provided context and guidance below and implement a solution
## Issue description
A header-shaped line later in a voice-note turn's multiline words is parsed as a new speaker turn.
## Fix Focus Areas
- src/cognition/library/transcripts/otter.ts[188-198]
- src/cognition/library/transcripts/otter.ts[77-80]
## Recommended Fix
Use turn or paragraph boundaries when recognizing ambiguous voice-note headers, rather than protecting only the first words line. Add a test with a header-shaped sentence on a later line of a turn.

2. Word line breaks change speaker turns 🐞 Bug≡ Correctness
Description
paragraphLines collapses every pair of newlines, including consecutive manual line breaks within a
Word paragraph or line breaks returned by a custom extractor. If those breaks separate an ambiguous
voice-note-shaped line from its words, the collapse makes that line a header and changes the
resulting turns and speaker attribution.
The extractor contract accepts text from any extractor, but the new replacement removes every \n\n
before layout detection. For an extractor result `Unknown 0:00\n\nGood morning.\n\nTranscribed by
https://otter.ai`, the original blank line prevents the loose voice-note layout from opening; after
replacement, the header is immediately followed by words and is parsed as a speaker turn.
The issue below was found during a code review. Follow the provided context and guidance below and implement a solution
## Issue description
Unconditional newline-pair collapsing cannot distinguish paragraph separators from consecutive line breaks inside a paragraph and can change transcript parsing.
## Fix Focus Areas
- src/cognition/library/transcripts/word.ts[30-38]
- src/cognition/library/transcripts/word.ts[60-63]
## Recommended Fix
Normalize paragraph boundaries only when the extractor provides enough information or an explicit contract to distinguish them from manual breaks; preserve intentional line breaks otherwise. Test consecutive line breaks before an ambiguous header-shaped line.

…a time as words
In a voice note's export, a turn whose words run over two lines, the
later one ending in a time ("We meet at 10:30"), reads that line as a
header: at the end of the turn its words are dropped as a header's with
none, and inside the turn it heads a turn said by "We meet at". Otter
writes a blank line after each turn's words, so the text tells them
apart; so does a Word file with an empty paragraph for each blank line,
and an export of times alone whose lines lost their trailing spaces,
where a time alone inside a turn heads a turn the same way.
A Word file with no empty paragraphs holds no blank line. There the
paragraph straight before the next header reads as a header with that
header as its words, and the order of the times does not tell it from
a header whose words end in an earlier time: the two files are pinned
side by side.
…the start of a block in Otter's text
A voice note's header and a time with no spaces after it take the form
of a line of words, and the reader guarded only the line straight after
a header. A turn whose words run over lines, a later one ending in a
time, read that line as a header: at the turn's end its words were
dropped as a header's with none, and inside the turn it headed a turn
said by "We meet at".
Otter writes a header's words on the line straight after it and a blank
line after each turn's words, the last turn's before the closing line.
A text laid out so, its lines of a header's form standing after a blank
line at least as often as after a line of words, now reads such headers
only where a block starts, with words on the line after them, and every
other line as words. A Word file with an empty paragraph for each blank
line reads the same. A Word file with no empty paragraphs holds no blank
line and reads as before, by the line straight after each header; there
a later paragraph that ends in a time, straight before the next header,
still reads as a header, and the order of the times does not tell it
apart either. The reader's TSDoc and LIBRARY_INDEX.md state the rule and
that limit with the input.
…s text holds them
mammoth writes nothing for a manual line break (w:br): its raw text
holds pairs of line feeds only after paragraphs, so the reader's
collapse of each pair into one line feed never meets two line breaks.
The test builds a Word file with two line breaks between a line of a
voice note's header form and the rest of its paragraph, writes out the
text mammoth gives for it, and reads it: the line runs into its words
and heads no turn. A header parted from its words the same way runs
into them too and reads as words; no reader of that text can tell the
break was there.
…rd paragraph
The Word reader reads each pair of line feeds in mammoth's text as a
paragraph's end. mammoth writes those after each paragraph and nothing
for a manual line break, so a line break never reads as a paragraph's
end; the words it parts run together on one line, and a header parted
from its words by one heads no turn. paragraphLines' TSDoc and
LIBRARY_INDEX.md say so.
The compiler reads what afterHeader holds at the top of the loop from
the header the line decides, and that header reads the new place
check, so the check's type was inferred from itself (TS7022) and the
build stopped. It is typed boolean.

…mes as one turn
A voice note's export of one turn whose words run over several lines, two
of them ending in a time, holds one blank line, the one Otter writes before
the closing line. Weighed against it, the two lines read the text as having
no blocks, and the first of them heads a turn said by "We meet at" at
10:30, taking the turn's words after it. The same holds for a time alone on
two later lines of a turn in an export made without names whose lines lost
their spaces.
…ing line is one block
A voice note's export of one turn whose words run over several lines holds
one blank line, the one Otter writes before the closing line. Weighed against
it, two later lines of the turn that end in a time read the text as having no
blocks, and the first of them headed a turn said by "We meet at" (CI run
40261620371 read red on the case). A text in which no blank line parts two
lines of words now reads as one block when that blank line is there, however
many of its later lines take a header's form; a Word file with no empty
paragraphs holds no such line and reads as before. The docs say so, and that
a Word file with an empty paragraph before the closing line alone reads as one
turn the same way, since its lines stand as a one-turn export's do.

Summary
Otter's text export can leave out the speakers' names, the times or both. Real exports show what each layout writes:
Sam 1:04:46;0:04;Sam, the name with the two spaces Otter writes after each part of a header;Otter's export of a voice note writes each header as the name, one space and the time, with nothing after it:
Unknown 0:00.otterHeaderreads only the first layout. An export made without names or without times has no header it knows, soreadTranscript(text, 'otter')reads it as plain lines, each header line a turn of its own words (0:04,Sam), with no times and no speakers, andtranscriptFormatOfnames itlines. A voice note's export reads as plain lines too, each header a turn of its own. This pull request adds three real exports as vectors, cut from transcripts published under open licences (
vectors/SOURCES.mdnames each source, its licence and the lines kept), and the cases they fail, then the fix:otter.tsreads a header of each layout: the name, two spaces and the time (Sam 1:04:46); the time alone with its two spaces (0:04), or without them in a text whose lines lost the spaces at their ends (0:04); the name alone with its two spaces (Sam); and a voice note's name, one space and time (Unknown 0:00). An export has one layout of header, the one most of its headers are, a tie going to the name and the time, so a paragraph that is a time alone in an export of names is words.Transcribed by https://otter.ai, since a line of words can end the same way (We meet at 10:30); without that line a voice note's export reads as plain lines, as before.2:30) or of a voice note's header (We meet at 10:30). The TSDoc andLIBRARY_INDEX.mdgive the input. We start at 9:30) is no export of those headers: Otter writes a header's words on the line straight after it, and each paragraph of an export made with neither has a blank line after it.transcriptFormatOfnames a.txtor.mdthat closes with Otter's lineotter, whatever its headers; without that line, two headers of a name and a time with words under them still make it Otter's.word.tsreads a Word file's text a paragraph a line, so the paragraph after a header stands on the line straight after it, as it does in Otter's text.docs/features/LIBRARY_INDEX.mdstates the rules.Follows #276.
