About me

I value simplicity and minimalist software design. Massive dependency chains piss me off. (Ironic, since my preferred language is TypeScript)

I hate AI, but sometimes use it as a rubber duck. Using AI to create software leaves me feeling unfufilled, and like I cheated. My life isn't entirely AI free, but I'm trying to remove it.

If I don't understand the snippet, I don't use it. If I must copy-paste code, I copy it by hand.

I've recently taken to using Gram over VSCodium. It's not perfect but feels really nice.

Things I like

  • I love strict typing and linting. (TypeScript, as horrid as the ecosystem is)
  • Passive aggressive comments in code
  • Open source software
  • Linux
  • Infrastructure as code (I've gotten into Nix)

Things I hate

  • Electron, Tauri, anything like that. (Doesn't mean I don't reluctantly use it)
  • Sprawling dependency chains
  • AI Agents and other forms of AI slop (Seeing Claude in contributors, ew)
  • Forced analytics, tracking, closed source software
  • Microsoft Windows & MacOS (ChromeOS gets a pass, I've worked in IT and they do one thing and do it well)
  • CommonJS
  • CSS libraries

Things I like (Doesn't mean I'm good at them all)

Nix, Arch, Debian, Linux, TS, MD, Vite, Astro, Go, Rust, C, SVG, CPP, Zig

Things I have (usable) experience in

Cloudflare, Vite, Astro, Bash, Github Actions, Git, Python, JS, TS, Windows, Linux, DiscordJS, Docker, HTML
