pty.fork prefers forkpty so a nested spawn is a new session with its own controlling tty. The openpty+login_tty fallback hung the jsontests collector. Assisted-by: Claude
select(2) updates the sets in place. Retrying an interrupted call with empty sets and a NULL timeout blocks forever. Assisted-by: Claude

Preserve the successful forkpty result when cleanup fails.
set_inheritable performs fallible F_GETFD and F_SETFD calls. After libc::forkpty creates the child, ? converts a cleanup failure into Err. posix.forkpty then raises an exception without returning the PID or master FD, so the caller cannot manage the child. Make this post-fork cleanup best effort, or otherwise return the successful fork result.

The periodic jsontests collector died with SIGUSR1 (exit 138) in `test_pty.PtyTest.test_spawn_doesnt_hang`.
`pty.fork` prefers `os.forkpty`. Without it, the fallback is `openpty` + `fork` + `login_tty`. Nested spawn then hangs the collector.
This adds `os.forkpty` (child may see master fd `-1`, as on Apple) and rebuilds `select` fd sets after EINTR so an interrupted call cannot block forever on empty sets.
Verified locally: `pty.spawn([executable, '-c', 'print("hi there")'])` returns `b'hi there\r\n'` with status 0.

New Features
posix.forkpty(), allowing applications to start a child process connected to a pseudo-terminal and receive its process ID and master file descriptor.Bug Fixes
select()behavior after interrupted system calls by rebuilding file descriptor monitoring correctly and reliably returning empty results when calls time out.
