📝 Walkthrough
Merge Risk: ⚪ Minimal · up to Default command loading now uses the canonical plural, lowercase directories, so commands in the canonical location are found on case-sensitive filesystems. The loader documentation now notes that the global config directory varies by platform. No merge-blocking risk remains. Pre-merge checks |

🎯 Functional Correctness | 🟡 Minor | ⚡ Quick win
Document the global path through dirs::config_dir().
dirs::config_dir() uses platform-specific locations and can honor XDG_CONFIG_HOME on Linux. On macOS and Windows, users who follow ~/.config/cortex/commands will place commands outside the loader’s search path. Document this as dirs::config_dir()/cortex/commands, with ~/.config only as a Linux example. (docs.rs)

The default command loader used `.cortex/command` and `Cortex/command` (singular, capital-C), but the canonical directories used by manager.rs and import.rs are `.cortex/commands` and `cortex/commands` (plural, lowercase). On case-sensitive filesystems, commands imported/written to the canonical location were never found by the default loader. Align the defaults (and the doc comment) with the rest of the crate. The search order listed the global directory as ~/.config/cortex/commands, but the loader resolves it with dirs::config_dir(), which is ~/.config only on Linux. On macOS it is ~/Library/Application Support and on Windows it is %APPDATA%, so anyone following the documentation on those platforms placed their commands where the loader never looks. Name the resolved directory and give ~/.config as the Linux example rather than the rule. Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5 (1M context) <noreply@anthropic.com>
The default command search paths don't match where commands actually get written.
CommandLoader::new()anddefault_search_dirs()look in.cortex/commandand~/.config/Cortex/command(singular, capital C), but the rest of the crate —manager.rs,import.rs, and the importer that writes imported commands — uses.cortex/commandsand~/.config/cortex/commands(plural, lowercase). On Linux those are different directories, so a command imported to the canonical path never shows up when you load the defaults. The doc comment right above the code already says lowercase, so the code was out of step with its own docs too. This just aligns the two default-dir sites (and the doc comment) with the rest of the crate; nothing else changes.
I haven't built it locally yet, but it's a straight directory-name change.
