Create a strong type for instruction counts #550

Open

Description

@ngober

Related to the Strong Type Migration project, there is another place where we have a raw integer type: instruction counts. This could be the type for the --simultation-instructions and --warmup-instructions parameters, it can be the type for O3_CPU::num_retired and similar members.

Migration to this type might also mean we could have a type for instructions_per_cycle, which is used many times in the statistics.

See #400 and #367 for similar changes.
