I’m really impressed with all the features the app offers and the new options like the meal planner. It makes food logging much simpler, and meal planning less time consuming. The goal setting also is pretty incredible. I feel like I’m with a health coach who is listening and can really put things together and customize a meal plan for me. And I like being able to pick my own recipes and swap out recipes that don’t appeal to me and that the recipes are selected based on the amount of time I have, my food preferences, and if I’m cooking for myself or others, our appetites and if we like leftovers. I like the grocery list that are generated and the ability to take off what I already have. I like the step by step directions for food prep and cooking. And I like, on the food log, that I can insert my own recipes or food favorites to make it easy when I’m eating similar foods and logging them. I also like the advanced features including the ability to customize my nutrient goals and select the information I want to see. I like the different reports and the occasional questions that pop up to allow me to further customize or view helpful information. I’m sure I have not even learned a small portion of all that’s available on this app. I feel the app is definitely worth $99 for the year for all that I’m able to do with it. I actually enjoy logging my food and I never thought I would say that. Thank you for all the time, effort, and thought you have put into creating this useful app.

I’ve used MyFitnessPal off and on for 4 to 5 years. In my late 20’s, I put on 45 excess lbs; lost it through a better lifestyle, and kept it off for many years. However, in the last ten years, my weight started to see-saw within a 10 pound spread; from trim and fit, to uncomfortably mufffin-toppy. MyFitnessPal works with any specific plan you like; low carb, low sugar, high protein, vegan - you name it. As long as you’ve learned to keep track with their system, you’re golden. It’s a bit of work to get all your foods in there to begin with- but as time goes on it’s incredibly easy. My choice is to be freer than any ‘diet’, as long as 80% of my foods are whole and healthy. I’ve gone off MyFitnessPal when my habits get super-good and I’m back to my low favorite weight. That always lasts for a while. And nowadays, I don’t wait to get to the high end of my 10 lb spectrum. At 6 lbs over my low weight, I jump back onto MyFitnessPal; they save all your food data from years ago! Instead of feeling, ‘I’m just getting older, oh well..’ this helps me feel absolutely empowered. It works! I’ve occasionally bought the high end package, which is great for learning about important micronutrients. Overall; this is an incredible system. Oh yeah, when you exercise, besides feeling better, you see how much more you can eat; or how much quicker you’ll lose weight. It’s basically about learning how the body calculates all of this stuff. It’s pretty amazing. Have a healthy and happy journey!

Meal planner

I am excited about using the meal planner and the option to add my family members. The meal plannermakes it easy to generate a grocery list and plan meals for the week. I have a few suggestions. On the meal planner, portions could be adjusted to add the “half of a portion” option for those of us with little kids. Or for a partner that needs one 1 1/2 portions. The only options are portions equal to mine or double. Also, adding family members to meals, some recipes don’t tell you how many ingredients to use per family member. For example, the turkey BLT wraps don’t tell me how much bacon to put in each person's wrap, especially when adding portions for leftovers, so I have no idea how much I need to put in each wrap for each person. If you don't want to premake the leftovers, having ingredients broken down per wrap would be nice. Maybe I am missing something. I admit this is my first day using the mealPlanning feature. Also, I wish there were a feature to edit some of the ingredients for some of the family members. For example, my husband is not eating as high a fat diet as I am. He uses My Fitness Pal, so it would be a convenient feature adjust the ingredients for a specific person, and then I could plan his meal and send him in a quick format what I put into his meal, so he could log it on his profile… if that makes sense. Overall, I am happy with the app and looking forward to achieving my fitness goals, using My Fitness Pal to hit my macros.

I highly recommend this app! I personally have learned so much about my routine and how to better my nutrition using this app. I have used both the free version and the membership benefits for different reasons and love how much I have learned from both. I took the advantage to learn from all the benefits of the paid annual membership and I now continue to use the app (free version) for general food logging and nutrition goal tracking. It provides me a sense of achievement to be able to look back at the results and more importantly this app has helped me realize what foods were interfering with my nutrition and weight management. Weight is never a concern when you start to eat healthy, and with the appropriate macros your body needs the extra weight falls off. This app displays a very good and simple macronutrient content for goals and it lets you know when you are getting off track as you log what you will be eating for the day. I have learned to plan ahead for meals thanks to this app features. Long story short, it all started when I injured my knee and I paid a fitness coach for personalized recovery training to get back to 100% mobility and strength. My trainer recommended this app to learn about nutrition habits and meals that will improve my overall fitness and recovery. My body has changed, I feel energetic and healthy thanks to the advice of both my trainer and this app.

Fixed: We eliminated the extra checkmark tap when adjusting serving size in My Meals. Now your totals update live, like they do in My Foods and My Recipes.
Fixed: On iPad, the app would unexpectedly close when editing your Premium+ meal plan approach if you had custom macro targets. Now you can dial in your meal plan without disruptions.
