CloudNativePG 1.29.0 is now generally available! This new minor release changes the game for PostgreSQL extension management on Kubernetes. By integrating image catalogs with our new "postgres-extensions-containers" artifacts project, we’ve centralized the supply chain. You can finally stop building and maintaining custom images to include the extensions you need. What’s new in 1.29: - Ecosystem-Driven Extensions: Secure, version-aligned extension containers. - Dynamic Network Security: Manage `pg_hba.conf` via Pod selectors instead of static IPs. - Shared ServiceAccounts: Simplified IAM across clusters. - Verified Security: All release artifacts and images are now signed, featuring SLSA provenance and SBOMs. Maintenance Updates: We’ve also released 1.28.2 and the final 1.27.4. 🚀 CloudNativePG 1.29.0 RC1 is now available for testing! We need your help to validate this release. Please test your workloads with RC1 and share your feedback, as your input is essential for ensuring a stable final release later this month. Version 1.29.0 will fundamentally change how PostgreSQL extensions are handled on Kubernetes. By integrating Image Catalogs with the new "postgres-extensions-containers" project, we are moving to a centralised supply chain. Other key updates in this preview: - Dynamic network access control via pod selectors to improve the way we manage pg_hba.conf using Pod selectors instead of static IP ranges. - Shared ServiceAccounts for a simplified IAM integration across clusters.
