I really liked this project, been using webview_java for some of my projects ( all-you-need-is-java , aux-cable ) but I saw on Discord the developer is stepping away.

Because of that, I made NotJustAnna/webview_java. It's MIT-licensed, almost feature-complete (missing the bridge component) and include features from webview/webview_java#33 and webview/webview_java#32.
