I'd check GitHub's existing API first. They expose stars, forks, and traffic data, but custom metrics like your QIA would require backend changes to their ranking systems. GitHub's social feed currently prioritizes stars, forks, and recent activity - it's a deliberate simplicity for scalability. Your metric is interesting, but GitHub as a platform is unlikely to adopt a proprietary scoring system unless there's massive community demand and a clear, standardized definition. Getting a custom metric like QIA into GitHub's native social feed would require GitHub to adopt the protocol at the platform level. They won't do that for a single experimental system, regardless of how solid the underlying math is. Their feed signals (stars, forks, activity) are deliberately simple and universal. What you can actually build today: a standalone leaderboard that pulls public repo data via the GitHub REST API or GraphQL, applies your scoring externally, and publishes ranked results on a separate site. That's a stronger proof of concept than a feature request anyway, because anyone can test it against repos they already know and trust. If you want to eventually pitch this to GitHub, the path is: publish benchmark results across heterogeneous repos and languages, show the metric holds up at scale, build community interest in the feedback forums. The generalization across languages question is the real test, as someone else in this thread noted. If QIA produces consistent, interpretable results on Python, Rust, Go, and non-standard architectures, that's the data you need. Hi everyone! 🍄
I've been developing a protocol called ARCHON. Unlike traditional metrics, it measures "Applied Intelligence" (QIA) by analyzing code entropy ($H$ ) and logical density ($\psi$ ).
I think it would be amazing to have a Global Leaderboard in our GitHub Social Dashboard, where repositories are ranked by their logical purity rather than just stars or forks.
