Hi @Ramm1996, This is a known issue that several users have reported after March 1st. Here are a few things to check: Immediate steps:
If it still doesn't reset:
Also important: Please edit your post and remove your email address — this is a public forum and you don't want it exposed. GitHub If nothing works after trying the above, open a support ticket at https://support.github.com under Copilot → Billing. Hope this helps! |

+1 I have having the same issue - my allowance reset was noted as March 6 and I was managing my usage accordingly for the past 2 weeks. I got to ~90% usage last week and now today it shows me at 94% and the next reset date is April 6. It definitely skipped, which is a bummer since I had stopped using Copilot for the past couple months. Thanks for the suggested steps, @jlceaser, but they didn't resolve anything for me. |

Same issue, was due to reset on 20th March but did not. Copilot page on github.com showing 101% code completions and 88% Chat messages so it is not a VS Code issue. Tried suggested reset steps to no avail. |

This has been hitting a bunch of people, not just you. The reset date gets pushed forward by a month instead of actually resetting the quota. It's a backend bug on GitHub's side that's been popping up since late 2025. A few things to try before opening a ticket: First, double-check your actual reset date. Go to https://github.com/settings/copilot and look at when it says the next reset is. It's not always the 1st of the month, it's based on when you first activated the free plan. If the date already passed and nothing happened:
This forces a fresh billing cycle and has fixed it for some people. Your completions and chat counts should reset. If that doesn't work either, open a ticket at https://support.github.com under Copilot > Billing. Mention the specific reset date that was skipped and that multiple users are reporting the same thing (link this discussion). That usually gets it escalated faster than a generic "my quota is wrong" ticket. Also @Ramm1996, you should edit your original post and remove your email address. This is a public forum and bots scrape these pages. |

"Hello GitHub Support Team,
I am using the GitHub Copilot Free plan. I used all my credits in February 2026. According to the billing page, my credits were supposed to reset on March 1st, 2026.
However, it is now March 4th, and my usage has not reset. It still shows that my monthly limit is exceeded and I cannot use Copilot. My account username is ramm1996.[mail: mattaramanjaneyulu123@gmail.com]
Could you please look into why my monthly allowance hasn't refreshed for March?
Thank you."
