Since my notebooks are stored in a deep file tree, I found the actual notebook manager a bit inconvenient. I started coding a MacOS finder-like with a column for each open folder. I made sure that the list of running notebooks looks the same. I would be glad to receive comments about it.

Is it something you would include in the main Ipython repository? Should I do a pull request? I still have to fix few "bugs" and clean a bit the code tho.
