adk-dev capability supports rapid integration as a Spring Starter for SpringBoot Apps #181
Currently, the Dev UI debugging capability must be launched in Maven format. Considering the convenience of integrating capabilities into a large number of Spring Boot applications, the related code within Dev needs to be refactored and layered, while also providing a Starter component for rapid integration with Spring applications.
Refactoring the current implementation to Spring Starter would be more flexible, and even better, if it could be integrated into other frameworks such as quarkus.

@TomorJM not sure why the code "needs to be refactored and layered" ... couldn't it already be used as-is? Or there any specific issues makes this not possible yet? Would you be interested in creating a sort of minimal example project, in a separate (your) repo, illustrating gaps, if any?

@xinhuagu could you clarify and provide some links to what exactly you mean by "Spring Starter"? Do you maybe mean https://start.spring.io, or something else? If you mean that, do you have any links to how additional starters can be added to that?
and even better, if it could be integrated into other frameworks such as quarkus.
==> #85 re. Quarkus; that's an entirely separate conversation, let's have that in #85 instead of here?

@vorburger Sorry for the confusion, my wording wasn't precise enough, by "Spring Starter," I actually meant "Spring Boot Starter" dependency, such as spring-boot-starter-actuator etc.
Spring Boot Starter bundles related dependencies into a single convenient package. it can be easily integrated as a reusable dependency into any Spring Boot application. It's different from a standalone server like the current adk-java-dev.
and even better, if it could be integrated into other frameworks such as quarkus.

I am currently integrating the ADK for our team's developers to use, and most of our applications are based on Spring Boot. I will provide a sample code this week for everyone to discuss.😄

@TomorJM did you ever get around to this? We'd actually love to tave a sort of adk-spring-boot-starter sort of thing in the contrib/ folder of this repo, and would certainly be interested in a contribution from you with it!

@vorburger Alright, I'll submit a PR next week, and everyone can discuss this feature then.😁

Currently the adk-dev with its UI are not production ready. I think on next step, we can:
remove UI from adk-dev, and create a react UI as a separate project for only testing purpose
and add the starter to adk-dev to and enhance it to be production ready. I think if we develop some agents with spring boot, we will have a common base code and rest apis, that should be shared on adk-dev. @TomorJM I have seen your pull request but i think our implementations are totally different
I am open to discuss with you and enable the starter for spring boot users
I'm tagging @ddobrin who is an expert in all things Spring / Spring Boot.
Dan, Mekki worked on a Spring Boot starter for ADK, you might want to have a look at it, and/or share your thoughts and feedback.
@ddobrin i hope you will have time to review my pr as soon as possible: #653

I think the dev server integration for Spring Boot app should be done similar to H2 console integration in Spring Boot.
The idea is that it reuses an already running web server in user's app and just adds a servlet with /h2-console URL, if spring.h2.console.enabled=true.
This also could be a good way to add adk dev server integration to other Java frameworks which use servlets under the hood. For reactive webstack a similar solution could be implemented. Both servlet and reactive solutions would be a tiny wrappers over the main server logic.
But I think the adk-dev web server implementation itself wouldn't be a Spring Boot app anymore in this case. As it needs to be more generic (to support different frameworks) and definitely it needs to not create a separate Spring context. Even for Spring Boot integration it is PITA to run 2 parallel apps, one of which will have agent/tool beans, etc., and the other one will be just a web server that uses them. Ideally it should be just a single (user's) spring boot app, that just creates (re-uses if already provided) a bunch of beans, like a spring-boot-starter with an auto-configuration.

Hello,
I created a spring boot starter for the adk. I share with you the repo on my github https://github.com/mekkiamiri/adk-spring-boot-starter
I also added an example of integration of the starter kit on spring boot app: https://github.com/mekkiamiri/spring-boot-adk-template
It is a first version of the starter. I checked the dev dependency and I added the necessary beans that i think are needed. These beans are:

Hi @mekkiamiri
I will review it this upcoming week, in light of what's there and how it works with the integrations with AI orchestration frameworks.
Have you had the opportunity to review the automated PR review feedback?
Sure, the Boot 4.0.0 recommendation is not accurate, as it is released.
One thing to note is:
