Description

Describe the bug

When uninstalling the GitHub Copilot hooks, the current session still throws an error, indicating that the hooks are blocking user prompts.

Affected version

GitHub Copilot CLI 1.0.98-2

Steps to reproduce the behavior

  1. Installed hooks
  2. The user started a session and was working on it
  3. Uninstalled the hooks
  4. The user's session is ongoing, and it's throwing an issue
  5. ERROR] [rust:hooks] Error in preToolUse hook from "/Users//.copilot/hooks/.json" (fail-closed): Error: Hook command failed with code 127
  6. User is unable to continue with the prompt and actions

Expected behavior

Though the user session on and uninstallation of hooks happens, GH Copilot shall be able to work without blocking the user prompts and actions.

Additional context

  • Windows and macOS
  • Mac Terminal, Windows PowerShell
  • zsh, powershell
