Andreas Dräger is a PhD student at the Center for Bioinformatics (ZBIT) in Tübingen, Germany. During his master thesis at the Martin-Luther-University Halle-Wittenberg he improved the storage of taxonomic information in BioSQL databases and implemented sequence alignment algorithms such as the Needleman-Wunsch- and the Smith-Waterman-Algorithm for global or local alignment, respectively.
