<p>
QuantStack is one of the leading contributors to scientific open source software in Europe. We work on scientific visualization software in 2-D and 3-D, interactive computing with Python and C++, and tools for robotics development.
</p>
<p>
We are looking for a motivated robotics software development intern or working student to join us to work at the interface between robotics, perception, machine learning, visualization and data science. We are currently focusing our robotics efforts to help launch robots in the cloud where we work closely with the ETH spinoff Rapyuta Robotics.
</p>
<p>
The internship may begin at any time during the year. Interns are expected to join the team for a minimum of six months. The preferred location is Berlin (Paris is an option), working hours between 20 hours (working student) or 40 hours (full time internship).
</p>
<p>
<b>Responsibilities.</b>
<ul>
<li>Work on challenging problems at the interface of robotics and data science</li>
<li>Be self-motivated and contribute to our open source stacks</li>
<li>Integrate yourself into our open source community by helping out others</li>
<li>Challenge the status quo and come up with new solutions</li>
</ul>
<b>Qualifications.</b>
<ul>
<li>Basic programming knowledge: C++, ROS, JavaScript or Python are a plus</li>
<li>Background in mechanical engineering, robotics, electrical engineering, computer science, or related field with a strong academic record</li>
<li>Good English skills</li>
<li>Structured, detail-oriented, and proactive work style</li>
<li>Excellent team and communication skills</li>
</ul>

You will support the community of users of the Conda and Mamba ecosystems, and help shape the future of software adopted by millions of engineers and scientists in the world. In this role, you will:

<li>Contribute to the development of the Quetz package server, and the JupyterHub project.</li>
<li>Improve the Quetz open-source package server to enable large-scale public-facing deployments of the service.</li>
<li>Contribute to the development of JupyterHub to enable large-scale high-availability deployments of Jupyter-based services.</li>
<li>Contribute to the development of build pipelines for creating conda packages.</li>
</ul>
<p>
While prior experience with conda or Jupyter is not required, a track record of contributing to open-source software is a huge plus.
