VictorCarreira/README.md

Hello World 🌎

Hi, I'm Victor, most known as Carreira ✍️. I'm an earth scientist professor at Federal University of Acre (UFAC) with a passion for numerical modelling of solid-Earth problems, applied geophysics, and paleoclimate studies. My journey began in 1993 after I watched Jurassic Park 🦖 in a movie theatre. I saw it again ... and again ... and again in an exponential fashion, and it sparked my curiosity about rocks and fossils. As a young school student, I worked at the National Museum 🏰, Brazil’s most incredible and amazing natural history museum of all time. It took some time before I started college, but I eventually earned my geology degree in 2012 at the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (UFRJ), focusing on economic studies of intracratonic sedimentary basins. I kept going, specialising in Geophysics at the National Observatory (ON), where I completed my MSc in 2015 in applied geophysics 🖥️ and my PhD in 2021 in geophysical modelling using heuristic methods, inversion, ML, and AI 🎰. For three years, I have been working as a postdoctoral researcher on the Organic Facies Modelling project Ressurgência, which won the Petrobras Inventor Award 2023 🏆, at Fluminense Federal University (UFF), resulting in two registered patents.
