Parameter parsing/passing: a hyphen at the start of an argument situationally prevents string interpolation #14587
In a --prefixed argument (that ends up not being a named argument), an embedded variable reference isn't expanded unless it happens to be preceded by :
Steps to reproduce
Write-Output-foo=$HOME| Should -Be "-foo=$HOME"
Expected behavior
The test should succeed.
Actual behavior
The test fails, because the variable reference is unexpectedly not expanded.
Expected strings to be the same, but they were different.[...]
Expected: '-foo=/Users/jdoe' But was: '-foo=$HOME'
