I'm Professor of AI at GISMA University of Applied Sciences in Berlin, where I direct BRAINS, the Brandenburg Research Center for Applied Intelligent Systems. This autumn I'm a visiting researcher at the Max Planck Institute for Security and Privacy in Bochum.
My research looks at how information and influence spread through social networks, and who gets left out when they do. I did my PhD at MPI-SWS on how people consume news online. Since then I've worked on fairness in influence maximization, first with greedy algorithms and now with graph neural networks and deep reinforcement learning. These days I also put LLM agents into social dilemmas on changing networks to see when they cooperate.
