Web Components: A Whole New World (the last minute abbreviated version) (Evening Reception Lightning Talk) - ~10min #8

Description

@rockerest

Abstract

Long maligned, Web Components are here (they've been here for a while), they're ready for you (the biggest companies you know are using them), and they're super easy to use.

Don't be afraid; this highly truncated version of a 45 minute talk will introduce you to the why and how of Web Components in hopefully under 15 minutes. Learn how the web got here, which cowpaths have been paved, and where you can use Web Components today (spoiler: it's everywhere back to IE11). If you're a developer concerned even a little bit about component reusability across frameworks or beyond rewrites, Web Components are the answer you've been looking for.

P.S. Since this CFP is being submitted last minute and I've never given this talk in this short of a timeframe before, buckle up for a wild ride of rough edges and slide goofs. It's gonna be a blast.
