Automatically extract port when pasting host:port into Hostname / IP #2608
Is your feature request related to a problem? Please describe.
When creating a new connection, I often copy connection details in the common host:port format, for example:
example.com:1234
When pasting this into the Hostname / IP field, HeidiSQL currently keeps the complete value in that field. I then have to manually remove :1234 and enter 1234 into the Port field.
Describe the solution you'd like
When a value containing a host and port is pasted into the Hostname / IP field, HeidiSQL should automatically split it:
example.com:1234
should become:
Hostname / IP: example.com
Port: 1234
The same should work for IPv4 addresses:
192.0.2.10:5432
And ideally for the standard bracket notation for IPv6:
[2001:db8::1]:5432
A plain IPv6 address such as:
2001:db8::1
should of course not be interpreted as containing a port.
The port should only be extracted if the part after the separator is a valid numeric TCP port (1–65535).
It would be preferable to perform this when pasting the value or when leaving the Hostname / IP field, rather than immediately while typing, so entering a hostname manually is not interrupted.
