[NeoForge 1.21.1] Viewport stuck at 1024x768 on launch with AMD GPU and Sodium after launcher update #3889

Bug Description

Description

When launching Minecraft 1.21.1 on NeoForge with Sodium installed, the game viewport gets stuck at the top-left corner (1024x768) instead of scaling to the full window size. Resizing or toggling fullscreen temporarily fixes it, but it happens consistently on every launch.

Log context

Sodium detects Radeon RX 580X and applies the AMD workaround:
[Sodium-Workarounds/]: Sodium has applied one or more workarounds to prevent crashes or other issues on your system: [AMD_GAME_OPTIMIZATION_BROKEN]

It appears that the OpenGL viewport rendering fails to sync with NeoForge's early display window (1024x768) on initialization under this AMD workaround.

Environment

  • OS: Windows 11
  • GPU: AMD Radeon(TM) RX 580X (Driver version: 31.0.21925.1001)
  • Minecraft: 1.21.1
  • NeoForge: 21.1.248
  • Sodium: 0.8.13-beta.2+mc1.21.1
  • Launcher: CurseForge Launcher

Additional Context

  • I suspect this issue started occurring after a recent CurseForge or official Minecraft Launcher update (possibly due to changes in how resolution arguments --width 1024 --height 768 or high-DPI scaling are handled during launch).
  • Screenshots of the issue and latest.log are attached.

Reproduction Steps

  1. Launch Minecraft 1.21.1 with NeoForge 21.1.248 using the CurseForge Launcher on a system with an AMD GPU (e.g., Radeon RX 580X) and Windows 11 high-DPI display settings.
  2. Install Sodium (version 0.8.13-beta.2+mc1.21.1) into the mods folder.
  3. Launch the game profile from CurseForge.
  4. Observe the game window upon reaching the main menu. The rendered viewport is stuck at the top-left section (1024x768) while the rest of the window remains black/unrendered.
  5. (Optional) Temporarily fix it by manually resizing the window or toggling fullscreen, but notice that the issue recurs every time the game is launched.
