I have been using discord for over 4 years now and I have no complaints about it. It is very balanced in ranks it has all the options you can think of and the best part is that it is totally free. Of course there is nitro discord but you can still be just fine without it. It is great for every type of socializing regardless of the circumstances. To rap this up I would say that it is great for hanging out with your friends and even important meetings. You should definitely check it out for yourself.
New version is kinda bad

I’ve been using discord for a few years and it was great, but now recently they introduced a new that makes things worse in my opinion.The DMs are now in a separate tab from servers so you need extra clicks to get to your private messages which is clunkier to navigate. Not to mention the DM page itself looks pretty much like Facebook Messenger which I’m not a fan of. Other than that, they completely removed the swipe left/right to open different panels which was so useful before, now you have to click for everything it’s pretty annoying and harder to navigate overall. And then some smaller things like notifications not showing up and pinned messages not showing who sent the message

I tried getting along with the forced name change, but this new UI is just too much. We had a perfectly good mobile app, now we got this ugly hard to navigate messenger-like app. It’s harder to navigate, the buttons are clunky, the friend activity header is one of the worst and navigating through servers is more difficult now. And u have no option of reverting back to the old UI. Edit: changed 5 stars now, in the last update they reverted to the old UI! 😁
