You NEED to change this: after the last two updates I can no longer see the last date when I made last changes in a document, because Word now saves a new document modification date EVERY TIME I open a document. I just OPEN a document, without doing any modifications, and it STILL saves itself. That means the modification date is no longer functional, because now it should be called „document last open date”. Like what the... I really needed the opening date and the modification date to be separate things, it really confuses me a lot now that it's gone. Not to mention that it sometimes lags; when I open a document and then close it, every document from a certain folder has its date changed. Sorry for bad english
Word is not suitable for serious work
Viktoriia Lamakh
Writing my thesis in Word was a nightmare. The program constantly changed things I had already edited: formatting would break, and styles would randomly collapse on their own.I redid the formatting five times. Five times I thought everything was finally in place, and five times Word decided, “Nope, let’s do it differently.” I had to manually fix indents, font sizes, and line spacing over and over again — because the program simply couldn’t remember what I wanted.Heading numbering (1.1, 1.2, 2.1…) was a tragedy on its own. It behaved unpredictably: sometimes it reset, sometimes it mixed things up, and sometimes it disappeared completely. There was no logic to it. I lost hours just trying to fix the structure, only for Word to keep breaking it again.I spent countless nights fighting with this document instead of focusing on the content. My mental health genuinely suffered, because for every step forward, Word dragged me two steps back. And please tell me — in a program that’s supposedly built for working with text — why is Times New Roman not the default font? Why are widely accepted academic standards still not implemented?I wasn’t expecting perfection, but Word is not a tool for education or professional work. It’s a test of endurance. To the developers: please make this program user-friendly. It should not cause this much pain. Перекди на українську
Don’t use it

In my opiniom all the five star reviews here are fake, bought by Microsoft, because this app is sh...t. First there are little things, that make me go crazy like the undo thingy. Its usefulness is far from a desktop version. And check this out: I had a writing in progress and i acccidently opened an older version of the file AND it had an autosave automaticaly turned on despite the fact that I turned it off manualny at some point, but it seems that app i so smart it had actually decided to turn itself back on. In result my good file got overwritten in an instant and there was no way of getting it back. My fault? Don’t think so.
Serious bugs can disrupt work or even result in data loss

It is does not come close to the desktop version. Apart from serious bugs described below, it happened to me one more time that word failed to save my work on sharepoint and I have lost at least an hour of constant work. A real disaster!!!But even this stripped down version: 1/ freezes while pasting text with keyboard shortcut on an external keyboard; 2/ stops responding to external keyboard (e.g. selection of text with shift very often breaks/stops working; option/ctrl + arrows to jump through the text often stops, too); 3/ screen jumps back while scrolling with an external mouse. All these are very disappointing, but 1/ (freezing while pasting) can seriously disrupt one’s work and should never be happening. It is time that Microsoft understands that it is a paid app and flows like those listed above are disqualifying (and NO, I will not switch to Surface).
• General quality and performance enhancements.
