One of our favourite apps for learning another language, the process is genuinely fun. What’s more, all those languages and games are available for free!
Some problems at Duolingo.

Okay, so when i did download this, i wanted to learn japanese, right? And literally when i started with it, it sounded like something else. Like actually, when i went further with japanese, it suddenly asked me to know what “alcohol” means in japanese. And that didn’t happen once. It happened to be in the lessons over and over! But also, people keep saying sometimes that they find sentences/words on the other languages, bad. But mostly the words keep saying weird things that translates later, into english. And also (not every time!) , but there are also some weird stuff happening when you gotta like say the sentences, in the microphone. Like when you say the sentence that is there, the microphone won’t listen. And you gotta say the sentence, way louder. So that the microphone would listen. So, it could sometimes be broken. (the microphone)Well, i forgot to say this but; If you think on the good side, Duolingo isn’t that bad! But they kinda press you to always be on Duolingo, so that you could learn new words. If you couldn’t do that, that would be fine! Because if you have the freezing thingy, (so that you could freeze the streak) you could actually just keep the streak frozen. But only for a day, though.I honestly have this opinion, and if you wonder why i rated this 4 stars, even if i “don’t” really like the game, its because you learn languages here! And, i could say, try to download this! If you don’t really get so many bad words or sentences, then you could really learn the language that you would want! But there aren’t so many languages to learn. I suppose that it is like 15-20 languages in this app. But all of ya’ll creators, you guys are still good, ok?————————————————————(My favourite icons are Lily, Zari, and Duo, of course! ;3 )-from nori/urte:D
Not for serious learners

After a 6 months of daily use with premium subscription I can tell it’s a great game to ease into language learning however what I have found for MYSELF is that I keep chasing the XP and trying to mid-max the 3x boosts and ramp-up challenges at the cost of quality learning, meaning learning with purpose and mindfulness, but instead is more of this autopilot get the xp drive. I feel like i could have learned much more just doing daily writing exercises and just googling the words i want to write than what i have been doing these 6 months on Duolingo. What i would like to see Duolingo implementing is the ability to opt out of the ranked system since it’s a double edge sword, to replace it I would add something like “league of your own” where it’s based on your performance for example if i did a lesson and then the next day i did it again with mistakes i should get less points, this should incentivise to individual performance and improvement of the lessons learned, since now with premium subscription I can brute force lessons, brain of, making mistakes without thinking much of whats on screen and still be rewarded. Also add writing exercises like “write invitation for birthday party to Linda” something short where it actually stimulates one’s brain to think and not just deduct the word on til you get it.
Is Duo good?
Heieb527392?!:’):!;!
I think it is effective and a nice way to learn a new language but it also has some defects , like super and max Duo is not for free. I don’t mean it should be but the free way should be made better as for some people and especially kids the not so free method isn’t really possible. It would just be nice if you could make as many mistakes as you want (but also be limited when it’s being used by unnecessary needs) or not be limited by ads. It would also be kinda nice if Duo asked you first if you would like to compete with other people because sometimes you just want to learn at your speed and not just race just for the top 3 podium place. I think also it would be nice to get some explaining when it comes to grammar and the ways where to put words in the sentence and how to make the right sentence without messing up the word placements because it’s hard to understand some language word placement in phrases. In conclusion I think Duo is a great place to learn something new but it can always improve in various methods. Thank you
Our mascot owl, Duo, is trading in his usual diet of mice for bugs this week. Yup, we’re squashing those pesky bugs to make the experience better for all of you.
